“Today, my neighbor who has had a 15 foot flagpole proudly displaying the American flag in his backyard for the last five years was deported back to Cuba.”

When I read things like this, I feel a little ashamed to live in a place that turns away people who are just trying to make a better life for themselves.

My uncle came here illegally years ago. Now he owns his own business and is doing great. I just think everyone should be able to have that same oppurtunity.

And I admit that I’m not nearly educated enough on issues such as this, but it still makes me sad that families, in search of a better life, are deported back to the terrible situations in which they were trying to escape.
